Try more. See more. Do more.

At Explorers, you’ll stand on your own two feet, and make memories to last a lifetime.

Being an Explorer

Explorers are a go-getting group of young people aged 14 to 18. Together, they make up the fourth section of the Scouts.

Week in and week out, they gather in groups called Units to try new things, make new friends and conquer the small task of changing the world.

The Carrick district has Explorer groups in and around the Truro and Falmouth areas, each having a different focus or style so your 14-18 yr old is sure to find something that suits them.

Young

Leaders

Develope valuable life skills and make a positive impact in your local community. ESYL volunteer their time helping to lead younger sections within scouting.

Being an Explorer Scout Young Leaders

Many of our scouts look forward to coming back to support the younger sections in the group as Young Leaders.

The Young Leadership scheme teaches young people vital life skills like looking out for safeguarding concerns,  managing the safety of others, how to teach, and how to lead.
