Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.

Being a Scout

Scouts are young people aged 10½ - 14 who:

  • Master new skills and try new things

  • Make new friends

  • Have fun and go on adventures, at home and abroad

  • Explore the world around them

  • Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond

Our Scout troop usually meets in the Kea Church between 18:30 and 20:15. Week in and week out, they gather in groups called patrols to conquer the small task of changing the world.

Activities & What You'll Get Up To

Build and develop your confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills. Explore you beliefs and attitudes and be creative. Gain independence and put these skills into practice at camps.

Badges and Awards

Master something you love, or try something shiny and new. If it spurs you on or stirs your interest, we’ve probably got a badge for it.

The Promise

As an inclusive and values based Movement, membership is open to all those individuals who share our fundamental values, and are willing to make a commitment to them, expressed by the Promise and Law.

Our Scout Leaders

All of our leaders are trained volunteers working to make Scouts the best it can be, but we don’t just need swashbuckling adventurers to lead our expeditions. We also need tidy-uppers and tea-makers and great listeners from all walks of life – for as much or as little time as they can spare.

Section Management

We manage our troop using Online Scout Manager.  This secure portal is where you'll find the programme and your scout's record of achievement.  You can ensure we have up to date contact and health details on record, and sign your Scout up for upcoming events.
